Cold Crashing
Newbie here. Just a quick question about cold crashing. What is the best temp to set my mini frig at? I have temp controller installed.
Re: Cold Crashing
I don't cold crash very often, but when I do it's usually around 34 degrees.

Re: Cold Crashing
Anything below 42 or so really helps from what I've read. Even 50 is better than nothing.

Re: Cold Crashing
Thanks Beer Lord i've got to start somewhere, so as long as its colder than fermentation it should be alright. I have seen some posts on Mr Beer that it should be in the low 30's and some posts say around 40. Just trying to get this as close to right as I can, and make some progress on my beer making.
Re: Cold Crashing
I set my JC at 38 for my minifridge, and crash for 3 days.

I don`t believe it matters as long as it is 40 or below. No difference between 35, 36, ...
I have over 9,000 posts on "another forum", which means absolutely nothing. Mr. Beer January 2014 Brewer of the Month with all the pomp and circumstance that comes with it...

Re: Cold Crashing
Late to the party but my fridge is set on 34 and I crash for 3-4 days. It always helps settled out and clear up the beer.
