I just realized...
I won't have time to brew anything until Labor Day.
That's three weeks from now. But it can't be helped. The pipeline is really gonna take a hit, though....

Re: I just realized...
I haven't brewed ANYTHING since April! Sometimes my brewing just seems like it was all a dream. Will definitely pick it back up in September.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Re: I just realized...
I've done some quick extract batches, just to keep pace with my consumption. And some of them have been good enough to make again, or at least keep in mind for when I want a quick 2.5 gallon batch.
I cut back during the summer, not making any five-gallon batches for a while. But the 2.5 gallon ones don't last long enough. I have plans to brew a fiver of FedoraDave's American Ale on Labor Day, and then resume my schedule of brewing every week.

Dave I've brewed more this summer then I have in all the summers since I've been brewing, which is a good thing. I have 2 more 5's ready, just waiting to free up my primary, (the Oktoberfest lager is being a little slow) I have 2 secondaries waiting. Now I'm thinking I should get another 6.5

For my jump back in to the brewing world I will be having a gathering at my house as some of my new friends in the area are interested to see how it works. Maybe it is time to start working on a recipe....... or KISS and use a tried and true brew.

Ouch...Conserve what you can LOL. Maybe try to sneak in a small extract batch? Pipeline...there's something I've been trying to make lol. Mother nature got in the way twice in a row though, she doesn't care about my schedule apparently. I'm down to 11 beers, won't have more bottles and none will be done until at least the 5th next month =/

My " pipeline" gets backed up if I brew more than twice a month.
If I'm the only beer drinker I would have to drink 3 beers a day to keep up with a LBK sized batch each week.
If I brew a 5 gallon batch I need to consume 6 bottles a day.
I'm good for 5-6 bottles a week.
I guess I need to get more friends to help me out!

You're missing the definition of a pipeline, it carries CAPACITY... Not Just In Time.Banjo-guy wrote:My " pipeline" gets backed up if I brew more than twice a month.

We drink 3-4 bottles total during the winter, maybe 6-8 during the summer. I brew 5 gallons every three weeks for a few months, then take a month or two off. It keeps - I've had 14 month old ones that are fine. Brewing weekly would be excessive for most of us.

I always have too much beer not too little. I have to believe a lot of brewers are sharing a large portion of what they brew. I personally can't drink anywhere near as much as I make (and I don't make that much).
Ever since I've started brewing I've wondered how people can go through all the beer they brew. It adds up to lot of calories! That's why I say I need to get more friends or at least the mailing address of all of the Borg members

Re: I just realized...
I you have enough family and friend beer lovers keeping up with the demand can get quite challenging. I know from experience. Since moving I haven't gotten to brew anything yet but I've been busy buying bottled craft beer to replenish the bottles I threw away during the moves. I just realized...the weather's getting cooler here now and my new brewing rig should be here next week. That's something positive to think about definitely.

Banjo-guy, I'm in the same boat as you. I don't brew much but still can't drink enough to keep up with production. I take some to work, have a friend or two that comes over to drink some and give some to the in-laws who live next door but I just don't drink a lot. I've been an athlete my whole life and still try to keep in shape so I stay aware of calorie intake (to an extent).
That being said, I'm sure we'd all be happy to send you our addresses ;p
