FastFerment $90 conical shipped

Post by Kealia »

Saw this in the BYO email I got earlier. I know there was a thread about the V-vessel before (this has been renamed). It sounds like they are making some significant changes to this including:

1. Easy Cleaning and Batch Stirring - 6" removable screw top
2. Total Capacity 7 US Gallons/27 Litres - Made for 5 Gallon batches with blow offs
3. Easy Wall Mounting System - Mounts to standard 16" wall studs
4. 33% Bigger Valve for Increased Flow Rate - 1" Bottom valve compared to original 3/4"
5. Collection Ball for Yeast Harvesting - Save $100's & harvest your special Yeast Strains!
6. Temperature Monitoring Capabilities - ThermoWell included - Thermometer available

Made with HDPE High Density Polyethylene (Food Grade)
Air Lock to Bottom Collection Ball Height 39" Width 16.5"

They also have stands. If I had a large fermentation chamber I would seriously consider this.

Thanks! It is that time to come out of retirement. I had so much going on a few years back that I just couldn't brew any more. But I am finally settled again and about to fire up the rig in the next few weeks. See when I get this bad boy how it will work!

had the original for about 3 or 4 years. Brewed a lot with it. The improvements they speak of are needed. as for the stand, I made one. put wheels on it, and rolled it around as needed.

A quick update on this. I just got this email from the company, disappointing a little but they put a great twist in there that makes it all the better:

Hi Everyone,

We want to thank you for all your pre-sale orders and support in getting the word out for FastFerment!

Due to overwhelming interest we are pleased to announce that we sold out of our initial presale of 1,000 units and have launched an extra 500 units at the same price! We initially thought we could get these first 1,000 out the door in late August but it will now be Mid-September due to the many improvements and quality testing to ensure we ship you the best of the best. To make up for it - we are giving each customer an extra FREE Collection Ball (roughly $20 Value) to be included in the order. Yes that is one FREE Collection Ball (You’re now getting 2 total!) per FastFerment ordered on or before August 6th.

The additional 500 units will be shipping out once we ship out the first 1,000.

As we get closer to our shipping date, we will email you again about the availability and pricing for accessories that can be included in your order, as well as provide you with a tracking number. Our goal is to have as many of the accessories available to ship with initial orders including the small stand, additional collection balls and the thermometer as well as others. Stay tuned for updates it is busy over here!

Thanks again for the support and helping spread the word about the presale!

If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us at any time! Info@TheFastRack.ca

Cheers!

Sounds like an infomercial.
I like the concept but am not sure how I could keep that thing cool at my house for the greater part of the year.
I am very interested in comments after you've had time to brew in it.

Yeah, that was my one concern as well. I don't have a fermentation chamber big enough to handle that and I have no plans to build one. I guess I'll be sticking with buckets and carboys. I'm old school like that.

Well, this purchase just turned expensive. Figured that since I no longer have the use of a complete gravity feed system, since the V-Vessle will sit a little higher when put in its stand, then I should help the mater along. Just purchased a Chugger 230v pump with cam-lock accessories to add to all to the brew equipment. The 115v pump was only $20 less so why not go with the higher Volt. Here is a picture of it, except mine has the center inlet on it for mounting convenience, IMO.

I have been looking at switching everything over to cam-locks or quick disconnects anyways so this was a good deal for me. To get the pump with all the connections I pretty much needed was a no brainer.

I think i'll keep this purchase from the wife for a bit :)

That's how it starts and it's even more expensive now that I'll tell her unless you pay me a ransom.

Finally got my confirmation. My conical has been shipped. I am a little annoyed that they decided not to make the tall stand and their solution to this was to put the small stand on top of a table. My question to that is what if I don't have the space to store this damn thing on top of a table as a table takes up much more room than a stand!

Anyways, I will now have to figure out a build for a stand sturdy enough to hold this thing.
