I haven't been there in a long time. I never bought their products any longer anyways, it was always the community I was there for. Won't be back no matter what they change.

I go there mostly to find out how my ex-wiener dog is doing. No updates for a while. sob-sob.

Most likely that's true, because very few here are still using MB. I do want to revisit/try some Brew Demon because I had some good but quick brews with the old stuff and have it all in my notes. But it is good if they can turn the company and forum around, it's still the best starting point for home brewing I think. It's good that some on here go back there to help the Nubees

I just went over and challenged Rick Z to come through this time. Will see if anything happens.

I haven't been to the MB forum since they started a minor flame war with us several months ago, and that was just to lurk. I haven't posted over there ever since I wandered into this particular pub. Pretty much everyone I want to discuss beer and brewing with is here now, and I got so disappointed in the MB products after the Coopers roll out, I cancelled my Brew Club. If I want small, easy batches, I can make more satisfying stuff with extract and steeping grains and just tossing them together.

I agree with those who want MB to come back to the quality and prominence it had as an entry level brewing kit; after all, it's how most of us, myself included, got started with homebrewing. But they changed, and not for the better, IMO, and at this point, their path and mine are too divergent.

I like keeping some quickies around for when I simply dont have time for even a 60 minute boil. Luckily, my friend from Florida has been too busy to do much so shipped me up a bunch of his old MrB stuff to brew as he drank enough of my beer when he was up in July. The LHBS carries some Breferm stuff that I might start playing with for a quickie fix. I was doing wine for awhile but that takes awhile to age and you can only have so many cases in your basement until it starts getting silly (or people think you are an alcoholic with that and a dozen or so cases of beer). Nice thing is now that the kegs are back online that buys me a day that would normally be used for bottling so the quickie needs isnt as pressing as it once was.

I don't know anything about the old Mr. Beer Forum anymore. I haven't been there in quite awhile but I do promise all of you this, there will never be a "Radical Upgrade" of this forum. Just some tweaks every now and again to keep thing good! :barman:

My brother bought me a Mr Beer kit 5 years ago & I was hooked. The process was easy & the brews were good. The American Devil IPA was great! Then they lost it. Wrecked the forum & the product. Hopefully they just go back to square one, because it was a great way to get into homebrewing with out a lot of expense. This forum is awesome. So much good info & great people from all over the USA. :flag:

Went over for the first time in a long time. Only a few posts a day. Glad for Louie and this place, though I don't make it in near as much as I'd like. Maybe when I start brewing again.

Going to the Hop Farm tomorrow afternoon for the annual hop pick for the Yazoo Bells Bend Preservation Ale, so I'll have to post some pics. Four hours of hop picking in exchange for beer during the pick, a case of the resulting Preservation Ale, and admission (and beers) at the Bells Bend square dance. Seems like an even trade to me... The CSB berries have made it into the blackberry kolsch, so hopefully that will be in my hands shortly as well...
