New TV show-Dark Horse Nation
is coming on the History Channel on July 29. Can't find much on it but have seen the commercial few times. Might have to check it out to see if it's any good.

Looks kid of interesting. Recently came across another show completely by accident, it airs on local stations ( what in the day would have been UHF ) called Beer Geeks. I only found it with 2 new episodes left in the current season and hope they will be airing repeats, since I have it set to record, go to their website beergeeks.tv for show info and station info for your area. BJs Restaurants Master Brewer Michael Ferguson is the host.

I've seen one show of the Beer Geeks online but it's not on in my area. I did hear it may be going off the air but that was many months back.
Just because craft beer is popular doesn't mean people want to see it on TV. Well, I do!

That is really cool. Marshall was where I flew to on my first solo and quite a few times since when I was still a student. There was a good $100 burger bar there but I was always a little paranoid about getting back so never made the trip. Have not yet made it there but next time I am cruising the I-94 to the west coast (the unsalted coast of course) I may just have to stop there.

Has anybody been watching this show?
I just watched the first episode and I was pretty dissappointed with it. There was pretty much nothing about beer. It felt like somebody decided there was a show about crazy people with beards on another channel so they should make one.
It's a shame because I really like their beer.

Kind of my take on it too. I record it so I just run thru the other garbage and watch the brewery related parts.duff wrote:Has anybody been watching this show?

But Beer Geeks and another called Brew Dogs on ESQ Network are pretty good shows. The two guys from Scotland crack me up on Brew Dogs.

It's dumb, sort of like Duck Dynasty with beer. I have it set to record each week but fast forward thru much of it to get to beer discussion. I do like the dude who can build anything though.

We watched it... that is what we thought, another damn reality show like duck dynasty.... I don't think I will be watching it, less about brewing and more about their lives. I've got enough freaking drama in my life without watching some one else's baloney. I don't think this on will last on the tube very long. just my 2 cents

Re: New TV show-Dark Horse Nation
I watched the first episode or two, and decided it wasn't worth it. Formulaic "reality" show featuring the usual oddballs. And I, too, was disappointed that there wasn't more about the beer, the recipes, the process, etc.
It also struck me as rather fishy when that guy made that dry-hopping insert and the other guy was standing on the vat trying to insert it. They made it seem really dicey, and at one point the guy said something about how it was really hot, as if they were doing a boil addition.
But they made a big deal out of how this do-hickey was for dry hopping. That vat should have been at 65 degrees or so.
Had to call BS on that one.
