I just spent the last couple of minutes making up my fall brewing schedule and putting it into the iCal on my laptop. They're tried and true recipes from my recipe book, up until November 2. After that, I haven't planned, and I may be formulating and brewing some new recipes over the winter. But I want to have a healthy pipeline all fiscal year (I consider the Brewing Season to be from Labor Day to late June).
I'm going to set aside a sixer from every batch, too, just to keep it in reserve, although I may dip into it as the year goes on, especially with the Pale Ales and IPAs. I won't be making a lager until Nov. 2 (I have a lager fermenting right now).
I was very disappointed in the hits my pipeline took this year. A lot of this was my own fault, since I suffered a couple of gusher batches, and I attribute this to improper cleaning of bottles after pouring. I've improved my efforts in that regard, and haven't suffered any gushers since. So I anticipate a healthy pipeline full of a variety of beers, beginning in mid-to-late September.
I don't think I'll be bored with my selections, even though I'm picking recipes from my recipe book; beers I've developed and brewed before. I've got a lot of variety there, from IPAs to Irish reds. I've got AG recipes as well as extract+steeping grains recipes, too. And all of it is subject to change. I may get a brainstorm and decide to try something new.
But I don't want any more disappointing droughts in the pipeline.
