Me, since they're not fully in our area yet, I'd hit all the Lagunitas first.
Enjoy!

Not a sixer story, but grocery shopping picked up a 22oz SA Oktoberfest to side by side with my Oktoberfestiv-Ale and free bottle, putting the bag in the trunk, right out the top to the asphalt! :( :( :( :( :( :( :(

That's really brutal, sorry for your loss :(

I think tonight I may go with the Pivo Pils. Since I'm not a huge fan of the style I can easily grab another if I need one and won't miss out. I'm only taking enough beers to have 1/night while at the lake and if I don't like it there, I'd be out one night.

It was at Total Wine. You just need to go every other day like I do. :jumpy:

The first one I drank from my mixer was the Firestone Pivo Pilsner.
It's not my favorite style as noble hops don't do a lot for me but this one gets rave reviews so I had to try one.

Image

The aroma is definitely noble hops BUT there's an added layer of fruit to it. I can't pin down what it is but I get a different aroma (that I really like) from what they describe:
Everything we love about classic German Pilsner with a hoppy Bohemian twist. Pils is a bright straw colored lager beer with playful carbonation topped with beautiful white foam lace. Delicate lightly toasted malt flavors underscore noble German hop character. Hallertau-grown Magnum hops deliver the lupulin foundation while generous amounts of Spalter Select hops bring floral aromatic and spicy herbal notes. As a twist on the traditional Pils, we dry hop with German Saphir for a touch of bergamot zest and lemongrass. A refreshing, light-bodied and hop-driven Pils.
While still not my favorite style of beer, this is the best pilsner that I've ever had. I won't seek them out to buy for home consumption but I would drink this while out. It's light, crisp and easy enough to put down where I could have a couple with a burger or something heavy and not feel heavier because of the beer choice.

My "transition to fall" mixer... Not the best mixer I've ever done, but options were limited. Not bad, with some summer beer, some autumn beer, most local, the rest solid beers available here. I technically had a Highland Clawhammer O-fest in there instead of the Love Bird, but I popped it at a party prior to the pic, and wanted the pic to be a complete six, so there you go... ;) Looking forward to getting my o-fest on soon... I have a "no o-fest until September" rule, but I did break down and have the Clawhammer the other night, so obviously it's not a hard-and-fast rule...

That Firestone pils is top notch. I've had a couple others that I like (Victory and North Coast come to mind), and I like to mix the style in here and there.

I wonder if they used Motueka hops. It has Saaz parentage plus kind of lime citrus in the back. I like it.

SUE! Tell me what you think. I still have several 2011 bottles that are top notch now (they are top notch fresh, but even better with a few years on them). One of my favorite beers, and one of Kealia's least favorite... ;)

Also, I have the recipe if you like it... ;)

And... if you ever see the sour SUE variant around (Fortuitous), I highly recommend snagging it. I popped my last bottle at a tasting a few months ago.
