CASH Smokin' Porter

Post by swenocha »

Was talking about this beer in the six-pack thread, so I thought I'd post the recipe here. I'm due to brew this again soon. It came out so great... of course, the recipe I used was... well... pretty accurate. ahem... ;)

Here is what BeerSmith gave when I scaled down to 5 gallon from the huge original recipe. Of course, you can easily round some of these values to more reasonable values with little difference:

CASH Smokin' Porter (5 gallon)
Other Smoked Beer

Type: All Grain
Batch Size: 5.00 gal
Brewer: Swenocha

Ingredients

Amount Item Type % or IBU
12.96 lb Pale Ale Malt 2-Row (Briess) (3.5 SRM) Grain 68.63 %
1.94 lb Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM) Grain 10.30 %
1.94 lb Cherrywood Smoked Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain 10.29 %
0.96 lb Carafa II (412.0 SRM) Grain 5.10 %
0.92 lb Barley, Flaked (1.7 SRM) Grain 4.85 %
0.16 lb Black (Patent) Malt (500.0 SRM) Grain 0.83 %
1.83 oz Nugget [13.00 %] (60 min) Hops 57.8 IBU
1.40 oz Pearle [5.40 %] (30 min) Hops 14.2 IBU
2 Pkgs London ESB Ale (Wyeast Labs #1968) Yeast-Ale

Beer Profile

Est Original Gravity: 1.102 SG
Est Final Gravity: 1.030 SG
Estimated Alcohol by Vol: 9.52 %
Bitterness: 72.0 IBU
Calories: 368 cal/pint
Est Color: 38.8 SRM

NOTE: You might be able to get by with one vial (esp if you starter it up). I used two. YMMV.

Label (note that the abv/ibu/srm stats are incorrect on this image... couldn't find the final image):

It wouldn't let me attach a .bsm or .xml file, so I had to text it in...
