San Fran Quake
Do we have any of our Borg near this area? If so, I hope things are well and you are not severely affected by the quake.

Re: San Fran Quake
It's about 75 - 90 miles North of us and we didn't feel much here. It's up in wine country and the current report is that there is road damage and water/gas main breaks. Governor has declared a State of Emergency because local Emergency resources have already been maxed out.
All in all, there is building damage and a couple of injuries but nothing SEVERE being reported yet.
EDIT: Let me clarify that last statement. There is a lot of business damage (liquor stores, antiques, etc.) and some neighborhoods with huge cracks in the streets. There are no highways shut down nor damage to any of the bridges so that's a plus. I'm sure some small businesses will not recover but the damage is nowhere near the 1989 Loma Prieta 'quake.

I actually thought you were even further from there than 100 miles. Glad you made out ok.
Hope those affected do as well.

Thanks Paul. And I checked my bottles, no trub was disturbed here.
Having been through many of these, I can make light of the situation but I do hope those affected aren't severely impacted.

I'm far enough away (Sierra foothills) that we didn't feel it but close enough that it's all over our news. I hope they are able to restore the historic buildings. There are lots of pictures of lost wine in stores and some wineries. My daughter is closer, at UC Berkeley, and she says it was strong enough to wake her but not strong enough to get her out of bed.

Re: San Fran Quake
The news has reported on one poor guy who is probably not a brewer, but whose house was split down the middle by the quake. People from his church are helping to move everything out before it gets red-tagged, but storage spaces can't accept new customers until their facilities are checked.
