Well, kicked the keg of Centennial Blonde a few days ago so time to replace that. Still have a couple of days until the CHAOS IPA is gassed up and ready to go so will be drinking out of bottles while brewing tomorrow I guess. Never would have thought I would have this much trouble keeping the kegs on tap. For some strange reason they seem to go quicker....

Was going to rack 10 gallons of stout into my rum barrel. But even with the barrel having soaked for two weeks, it still as a pretty active drip to it. I've just sent the company an email asking about it with pictures. I'll start a thread in Advanced about the recipe, barrel and follow up.

Good call berryman. Pumpkin Rye Saison this morning. With the pumpkin addition and pilsner boil, it made for a longer brew day, but man does it smell good in here now!

Bottled the Choco Brown yesterday, and it did not go off without a hitch. It was fermented in an LBK because two buckets wouldn't fit in my fermentation fridge, and I lost about a quart of beer transferring it. Then yesterday at bottling, the fooking spigot broke and I had to let it rush out into my bottling bucket through the spigot hole! So now I'm worried that it is going to oxidize from gushing out and aerating. If it doesn't, this better be the best fooking batch of Choco Brown I've ever made!

Plan to add the rest of the roasted coconut to the keg and do a taste test.
Not sure when I can brew again but hope to get back to it soon. Haven't gone this long without a brew in a very long time.

I'm going to use up the 4lbs of Maris Otter LME I have in a quick batch weekend. It will toe-the-line between an APA and an IPA depending on the hops I have on-hand. Just need to grab some steeping grains and yeast on the way home (early) today. Recipe will be by the seat of my pants.

Yesterday bottled 5 gallons of Mackinac Island Red. Future batches on hold waiting either for the basement to drop to mid 60s or getting the freezer moved here from my in-laws garage. Hope to move it in the next few weeks, it's only 150 pounds so no biggie, just need to make the trip (yesterday was predicted to be bad weather and the truck was full).

Bottled a case of Trilby Brown Ale this morning. Tomorrow morning, I'm brewing a fiver of FedoraDave's American Ale to kick off the brewing season.

It's kind of become my tradition to cut back on my brewing during the hot summer months and then start on Labor Day with a fiver and swing into brewing/bottling every weekend.

I racked my Pumpkin ale to a secondary this afternoon, a lot of cleanup with all the pumpkin poop but that's why I love my big mouth bubbler, had it all cleaned in no time. I didn't plan on brewing today but after I got everything cleaned up and it's been raining off and on all day here and the wife went shopping I decided to brew a saison that I had planned for a while. Boy does it every smell freaking good down here in my basement. Did a mini-mash on the grains. Extract both LME and DME, it went very good and now all done with the clean-up. Now going to brine a chicken to cook tomorrow on the smoker also going to do some pork butt steaks, I do them something like ribs but nowhere near as long. A very nice day and I drank a few beers along the way.
