MrB Mexican Cervesa......w/ hops?
Has anyone ever added any hops to the Mex Cervesa to make it into an IPA - is this a bad idea? I've not read many good things about the Cervesa - so i was trying to spruce it up a little. I'm a huge fan of the ipa - whether a hop bomb or just a subtle hoppy taste.

You'd need some LME or DME to boil some extra hops as you do NOT want to boil the pre-hopped ME from MrB. Other than that, why not? Try it and see.

I'm with Monty...
Add a pound of light LME or DME to three or four quarts of boiling water.
Then add maybe some Citra or Centennial hops and boil for 15 minutes.
Shut off the heat, add the Cervesa and proceed as normal.

I did as above but with Amber DME to get some crystal malt flavor, and Northern Brewer hops, and California lager yeast - Made a good steam beer.

Here's what I did with the Cerveza: added 1 lb of Amber DME, Citra & Simcoe hops both @ a 15 minute boil, then Amarillo hops @ 5 minute boil. It turned out real tasty, kinda like a West Coast IPA/APA.
Good Luck!
