Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.

Re: Honey Brown Ale
The honey malt and smoked malts are an acquired taste as far as we have experienced JP.
It is like New Mexico Green Chilis where you can get purchase many levels of hot from no heat to no freakin' way.
The advice is when you get into these kinds of specialty grains experimentation should happen across several batches to see where the brewers tolerance lies.
I've seen plenty of posts for the stronger flavored grains where 4 ounces should be a starting point but may be to much; obviously that is recipe dependent.

This turned out delicious!
A very smooth, drinkable ale. The honey malt is there but not cloying.

Re: Honey Brown Ale
Glad it turn out good.
I've been thinking about making a Brown Ale in the next couple of batches and might have to shoot for an all grain version of this when I do it. I saw when you first posted the recipe and thought that it sounded quite tasty.
Thanks for the update.
If you made it again, any tweaks, or would you brew it as is?

Re: Honey Brown Ale
That's a heavy brown ale! Honey malt isn't my cup of tea after having experimented with it early in my AG 'career', but to each their own. Brown ales are my favorite dark beer style, and my own is my first original AG recipe that I consider my flagship beer. Now with the weather changing, it's a great time to have a brown ale on hand!
Re: Honey Brown Ale
I think the Honey malt may have been too much with a smaller grain bill, but its malty enough he Honey doesn't dominate.
My only tweak would be to throw in a small flavor/aroma hop addition.
