Football weekend coming up. Perfect time to brew and watch a little. You can do it! You've always impressed me with your brewing, now gitter done!

Brewbirds, when the pipeline crashed after the daughter's wedding, I reverted to the 30 packs of Busch for 15.00 at the local grocer!

PapaG, let's make a deal, I'll brew it if you bottle!
I've got about 12 gallons of beer to bottle right now and NO desire to even attempt it!
12 hr workdays five-six days a week suck!

Good luck PapaG! Hope you get your mojo back soon!

Ok, ok...

First, I want to thank all my Borg Bretheren [ EDIT: and Sistren].... All good suggestions and encouragement, mixed with just the right amount of butt kicks, shame and dominance? (Beerlord... We gotta talk... LOL!)

And TT... I now remember that the grass is never greener on the other side... But at least you are workimg... That's a good thing... As far as your bottling dilema, we may need another thread!

So, since...
:worthless:

Here's the proof! I ended up doing an extract with steep Abbaye Dubbel...

(1) Can MB Bewitched Amber (added at flameout)
3.3 lbs Briess CBW Pils LME
1.1 lbs Briess CBW Munich LME
.25 lb Amber Candi Sugar

Steeped:
3.5 ounces CaraFoam Malt
1.5 ounces Extra Special Malt (this is 2-row, not crystal so I held 153°F on the steep for 45 minutes)
1.5 ounces Aromatic Malt
3.0 ounces Special B

.5 tsp Powdered Yeast Nutrient (added with the MB malt at T-10)

1.5 ounces Saaz hops (i added them while the wort was heating and boiled for about 15 min... Sé la vie)

1 package SafBrew Abbaye Dry Belgian Yeast

Taking inventory of specialty grains:

Thanks YD, I figured an easy one would get the ball rolling...

And I did get a lot of encouragement!

Plus I wanted to try that Dry Abbaye yeast...

You know what? I didn't even realize I had that many different varieties...

Glad I ran an inventory... Now to design some beers around them...

Should be interesting because I have a fair amount of NZ hops that I have to use up as well!

BTW: So I pitched at 5:30pm eastern yesterday, and this was happening at 3 am...

Been this way since...

Clue? Perhaps...

Seems to be a top cropper...

But seems to smell a bit sweeter than 3787...

Doesn't seem like Chimay...

Well, I was inspired too. Brewing a Pumpkin Ale right now.

Clue? Perhaps...
Maybe it's the mutated Westmalle strain that Westvleteren uses. We can hope right?

That would be very cool!

So, now it has been 24 hours, no change in smell but the yeast have settled own and 'seem' to be done with the blwoff tube!

But I'm not done with it yet... They might be rallying the troops for another assault!
