Borg message to check in
Hi. Been a while since I posted here, but I lurked a lot. Thanks Louie for the reminder to log in and explain what I've been up to. Here's the abbreviated version:
Last here, got conical from Brew Demon for guessing date of 200 th member. Was in the chat thing planning next brew.
Life had other plans. Gout, broke ankle, bee sting (benefit of aging is new allergies), dad died, estate hell, reorg my company, car died / replace, launch new product, another bee sting, finish up estate crap next week.
I need a homebrew! Will fulfill promise to post picks of first use of conical in October -- more life events must wait for beer.
In karmic convergence mode, this may happen as the Borg hits 300!

Thanks. I think the worst is past (knocks wood). A couple things to wind up, and then brew nights to look forward to.

Wow, it never rains but it pours, huh? I'm sorry for your bad fortune, and especially for the loss of your father. But this just points out how much you need the therapy of brewing and the companionship of the Borg. More than one of us (myself included) have used this forum to vent our feelings of loss, frustration, and pain when the Hammering Fist of Life is pummeling us.
And I'm serious about brewing being therapy. I know it is for me, and I'm sure many others feel the same way. It tends to lift a person out of their troubles for a time, and we all need that now and then.

Looks like those bees have a serious hate for you
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Geez, talk about a run of bad luck! Here's to the knowledge that it can only get better from here. Hang in there, and welcome back to the Borg!

Yeah, the bees are getting obnoxious. The last one was hiding under the covers and got me went I went to sleep 2 weeks ago. Nowhere but up after that.
Re: Borg message to check in
whynot I can sympathize with a lot of that except for bee stings, which I understand is very scary if you're allergic. The broken ankle thing, yikes, I remember that without fond memories.
Sorry about the loss of your father, we did the estate thing as well when my mom died and it was ages and ages until we finally got the house ready to sell.
Hope you are back with us for the long haul and can get to brewing again real soon.
