Recipe Collaboration Exchange Fall 2014 - Pairings
Interesting list of participants this time around.
Mostly Level 4 brewers, with a number of them making a point to say they were willing to work at any level. And I thank you for that. There was only one participant who called himself a Level 2.5 (extract/steeping grains/2.5 gallons), and as it turned out (completely randomly, I swear to Ninkasi!), I got paired with him, and this is totally neat because I'm always looking to formulate 2.5-gallon batches comprising extract and steeping grains, for those times I want a quick brew day. So I am really looking forward to gaining a new recipe with my partner, and I hope alla youse feel the same. Here's what we got:
Banjo-guy/Dawg LB Steve
myhorselikesbeer/FrozenInTime
jimjohnson/BlackDuck
swenocha/dbrowning
Foothiller/braukasper
BeerRust/FedoraDave
Thanks for signing up, fellas. Get in touch with each other, plan your brew, and brew your plan. And keep the rest of the Borg updated on what you've got going on, and how it turns out. That's a big part of the fun, and I find it very gratifying, to be honest.

Awesome! Nice job Dave, it looks like some good pairings this fall. I look forward to seeing what you guys come up with. Sorry I had to sit this one out, I am just too busy and I have 3 beers in the pipeline, and I don't even know if I will have the time to brew those 3 before the winter RCE. I hope you guys enjoy! I know I enjoyed doing the last 3 RCEs and I hope I can participate again soon!

Were you two teamed up before?! Wow. Random stuff, so there ya go.jimjohson wrote:Well Cris I guess it us again. (Team Buckeye) I'll send email.
Maybe this will lead to a permanent partnership.
JimH, I totally understand being real busy and not knowing when/if you can participate. But keep your eyes open for the winter RCE. Probably late January. It would be great to have you join up then. In the meantime, RDWHAHB, buddy.

Yup...we were paired last time too. And we made an awesome Saison. So I'm sure we'll do another great recipe again this time.

I hope so. As long as your last collaboration was successful, and you don't mind being paired again, we're good to go.

I haven't talked to dbrowning yet, but I'm looking forward to getting it going. I haven't done one of these in ages, and it resulted in a great wee heavy, with caramellized wort, as well as heather and oak additions. Well, I did do one other one, but had a long brewing hiatus around the time we crafted the roggenbier and I haven't worked back to doing it yet (really need to do that... I love me a roggenbier). Thx Dave...

Thanks for getting this together, Dave! I know you say it doesn't take much work, but it does take dedication to actually pull it off like you always do. I have sent a message to braukasper, and am looking forward to whatever we come up with.

As always, some good pairings. I'll be watching to see what comes of this round.

Another great set up, I especially look forward to The Hat and BeerRust letting us follow along. I'm anticipating some really creative stuff from your pairing.

Looking forward to the results that's for sure. Wish I could have participated but things are crazy right now and will either get crazier or calm right down.
