Lagunita's Day Time Ale

Post by Gymrat »

I bought some different Lagunita's beers from the build your own six pack shelf yesterday. My favorite by far was this beer.
It is a session IPA with an ABV of 4.1%
Aroma: VERY present and pleasant. Combination of pine and citrus leaning way more toward the pine. Really nice
Pour: Went right into my glass. No issues
Appearance: My mancave was dark but it appeared really good and refreshing to me
Flavor: Damn this stuff is good. Flavor was much like the aroma.Really hoppy but no bitterness throughout the entire tasting experience. In spite of the low ABV this beer has plenty of malt backbone to stand up to the hops.
I highly recommend this beer.

Roger...how was the mouthfeel? I've noticed that a lot of session IPA's tend to be thin. I guess it's hard to get the medium to full mouthfeel with the reduced amount of malt it takes to get the ABV down.

Thanks for the review and the recommendation...I'll keep an eye out for this one.

Surprising body for such a low gravity beer. IPAs are supposed to be somewhat thin anyway.

So far we can only get draft Lagunitas here and only 2 styles. I think it'll be a few more months before the bottles arrived.

I'll second the recommendation of this beer. This came out well before the current 'rush' of session IPAs. Lagunitas knows how to make beer. Good beer. Really good beer. Oh yeah, it's hoppy, too!

This really is one that you can drink all day. As Roger noted it has enough malt to not feel 'thin' like I know a few of you have commented on that you don't like (in reference to GoTo, or Easy Jack). If you can find it, try it.

Haven't had this one yet, but like Kealia said, Lagunitas makes really good beer. I've yet to be disappointed by anything from them that I've had. Little Sumpin' Sumpin' is my favorite from them but their IPA is great, and even their Pils is great.

I've been a real fan of Lagunitas for sometime now especially their Little Sumpin' Ale but I have to admit I thought their DayTime Ale was a bit over carbonated for me and lacking in taste when compared to the rest of their lineup. In all fairness maybe three six packs didn't give me enough time to get used to it, but the rest of their beers are so good it's hard to justify buying a fourth right now.

I'm an IPA guy but I enjoy Little Sumpin Sumpin more than their IPA! There's just more flavor for me in that one.
I've not been a big fan of any of the session beers though some are better than others. They just don't satisfy me.

I've only had their Little Sumpin Sumpin and it was really good. I'll have to give some of their others a try.
