Trying some more of my "smashed Pumpkin Ale"
Image
I like it and I think I have a winner here, it has a good Pumpkin background but not overwhelming , BUT it needs a little more spice aftertaste. I did use a spice tea as suggested by D_Rabbit in the secondary, but I'd like to taste just a little more next time and I will brew this again.

Homebrewed amber ale.

We need a "Last Pour" thread...

This was the last bottle of my Kolsch that was bottled back in February. It's been in the fridge for 7 months and HOLY HEAD BATMAN! I poured as carefully as possible and still had a huge head on this beer.

This beer was crystal clear (and if anybody recalls) darker than a typical Kolsch because I used the new (at the time) Kolsch malt from MoreBeer.

I was really happy with this beer when I drank it in May and am somewhat blown away by it now.
Super clean, crisp & light but with a nutty undertone from the malt that makes it interesting. It was 95 here yesterday so this was the perfect beer to enjoy on the warm evening!

Went to Triton Brewery and had a Soul Crusher IPA, then Batch 1, an Imperial Oatmeal Stout aged three years in a bourbon barrel. 14% ABV and possibly the best beer I have ever tasted. It was brewed to celebrate the opening of Triton 3 years ago, and will soon be gone forever!

That kolsch looks awesome...

I'm drinking Yazoo today... Posted the first in the o-fest thread, but here's the 2nd half beer... I picked the hops in this, which makes it better.... ;)

Just finished a round of local raw oysters; grilling some wild Alaska King salmon now & drinking some mighty fine homebrewed Double Black IPA. Life is good!

I’ve been sampling singles of different porters throughout the day but now, done with pre-Monday paperwork, I’m enjoying a pour of The Macallan 12.

Sammy's Octoberfest and it's ehh ok, I buy some every year and have made some that I have liked better, but I don't know if mine is going to turn out very good this year. We will see in a few weeks.

Dat MacAllan... reminds me of my wife's Poppy. He was an alcohol distributor, and that was his favorite. All of his grandchildren pitched in to buy him a MacAllan 30 for one of his last birthdays. Of course he immediately shared it with all of us (he was in his 90's, so what was he going to do? age it?). So good...

I'm going Suffolk beer tonight... Greene King The King's English IPA. Very nice. Malt bomb of an English IPA, right to style, with plenty of English hops to make it nice and balanced. Pretty beer too...

Back on the Juniper Saison crack bandwagon. 2.5 gallons of 5 is all gone-diddly-on.
