Another Good Beer Night

Post by John Sand »

Attended the monthly brew meeting tonight. Only four guys, which allows for all to be in the same conversation. They liked my beer. I learned that one of the other guys went to the same high school I did, though 26 years later. We even had some of the same teachers. But the night still improved. Walking back to my car, I noticed pallets of kegs in front of a barn. I stopped to look, there was a guy there on the phone. I told him I was interested to see this, on my way home from a homebrew meeting. He told me that it was Port Jeff Brewery's new facility, and invited me in. I saw barrel aging, limited edition bottles, a cold room, 250 gallon fermenters. I left him with a bottle of my IPA. His name is Mike, and he is the brew-master.

Well, sounds like you're in like Flint (who's old enough to know what that means?) and maybe before you know it, you'll be brewing large batches of your homebrew in Mike's brewery.

LOL. I think most of us are old enough. I guess the average age of this forum is right about 50. I did get a head start on a brewery job, I offered to help him move the kegs! Two guys at the club are doing a collaboration with a local micro-brew.

I'm not sure what a Flint is and if 50 is the average age here, then I'm only halfway there. Anyway, sounds like an awesome night that most homebrewers probably only dream of. Hopefully your IPA will have him contacting you in the future!

They liked it Ink. I've been getting positive reviews from them lately. I still want to improve in this IPA though. The first bottles were really great, the next ones less so, though still quite good. In fact, I think I'll do some analysis right now! One can never "study" too much.

Don't you worry a bit about your reputation, Ink. It's hopeless! Kind of liberating, no? :D
