It pains me to have to ask...

Post by russki »

I have not been posting on the Borg much lately... I have not been brewing or even drinking much either - it's hard to do when you are on a roller coaster. Just over a month ago, my wife Natalie was diagnosed with breast cancer at age 36. It's been a tough time for our family - the kids don't really understand what's going on, but they can definitely feel that something is terribly wrong.

I am thankful that we have found it when we did, before it got a chance to spread too far, and that we are able to get my wife the treatment she needs to be cured of cancer. Every day I pray that she beats it, and can be whole again. So far, she's been a trooper - but we're just beginning the process.

I never thought I would have to ask for Borg's help, but the medical bills keeps stacking.... and we're only just a month into a year-long journey. I have set up a fundraiser to help pay for my wife's treatments, and would appreciate any amount you can contribute - every little bit helps. Please don't feel obligated to give - if you can't donate, you can still help by spreading the word and sharing the fundraiser link with your friends and family. Your thoughts and prayers are very much appreciated as well.

You can read more of Natalie's story and contribute at http://www.youcaring.com/medical-fundra ... cer/244195

Help us beat the monster.

Andre, I am so sorry to hear about this. I know you've done tons of reading along with the praying so you know, this is MOST DEFINITELY beatable. I can't imagine what you're dealing with but my 80 year old mother in law beat it a few years ago and catching it early was the key.
Prayers to your whole family. Your family is beautiful and yes, I will make a donation. If I can spend my money on making beer and buying $15 bombers, I can damn sure make a donation for your family. Consider it done.

I am devastated...I am speechless...such a shock to hear.

It has happened in my family and there was success.

No platitudes, no cliches just completely focused on positives as this is an enemy that so many (medical community vs. other cancers) have learned to defeat.

Staying strong means not turning over control to others, remember that your family is the boss; it can be hard to deal with the docs etc. at a time like this but take a deep breath all and get control together, this sounds insensitive but your likely going to be inundated by medical support staff.

Please keep us informed if and when you have a moment to keep us all posted.
