Fass-Frisch 16g CO2 Carteidges

Post by jimjohson »

Has anybody else bought this brand? I got 10 at my lhbs and my gun will not pierce the top. I figured the gun was bad(it was used) and got a new one...same thing. Instead of piercing the top it pops past the thread, feels like a stripped thread when it happens. I examined the threads, both male and female, no damage seen. The attempt leaves no mark on the top of the cartridges. I don't know why but the Germans apparently don't want us to use their CO2. For the record the new gun came with 1 cartridge, which it easily pierced.

This is what I mean by CO2 gun

I have one I gave my brother and barely used and I'm sure it was this same brand. It's working still on his 2.5 gallon keg.

I have one similar. Not sure of the brand though. No issues, just crank it on and good to go.

I'm asking about the cartridges being a problem not the gun

The 3 cartridges I got came with my gun and have no clue of the brand. Sorry. Check out some reviews online. Maybe they had some issues with a batch of them.

I found the gun design too wasteful of cO2, screwing it on lets a lot of gas leak out and the cartridges aren't cheap.

I got the cartridges in a green and yellow box, I remember because they shipped me the wrong ones but once corrected they did work.
