Re: Your Most Memorable Brewday Mishaps
After brewing my first batch I was excited to start my second one. Cleaned the fermenter with the Oxy wash I purchased from my local store, but in my excitement forgot to rinse three times as recommended. Filled it with sanitizer, let it sit for ten minutes and then reloaded the second batch to ferment.

I did make some salty tasting one-step powder didn't quite really dissolve and get out of the fermenter beer once, the first time I used my LBCs. One step doesn't dissolve as easily in them due to the cone, it all falls into a little disc at the bottom.
Since then I've taken to dissolving my one step in 1 gallon jugs and then pouring that into the LBCs.

Re: Your Most Memorable Brewday Mishaps
The first and thankfully only infected batch of beer I've ever had was when I used a galvanized strainer to keep hop leaves from getting into my LBK. That caused my first and only bottle bombs too, I threw that strainer away and bought a stainless steel one and haven't had an issue since.

One of the best brewdays that I've ever had that turned to the worse in no-time. http://beerborg.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... man#p16298

Re: Your Most Memorable Brewday Mishaps
Ouch! That's an awful way to end an otherwise perfect brewday! You had me smiling as I started reading through the post, 'spoiler alert', but to have to deal with cleaning up a broken carboy and and an entire brewday's worth of beer is heartbreaking.berryman wrote:One of the best brewdays that I've ever had that turned to the worse in no-time. http://beerborg.com/forum/viewtopic.php ... man#p16298
