My pumpkin beer was very good, so good it is all gone now (saved one bottle for the Secret Santa). I want to make another batch and I don't like changing a good thing, but I do like to improve. I think it came out so well because of the good advice I got from this thread. So now on the second try with the same recipy I'm thinking of the same amount of pumpkin and baked the same way but using fresh pumpkin instead of canned. I still want a little more spice then what I had. I made a tea as per D-Rabbit and added to the secondary, but would like to taste just a little more. Used us-05 yeast but was wondering if 04 would be better or about the same. I had a couple Southern Tier Pumpking's last weekend and I liked what I made just as good or better. I had some Johnny Rails http://www.eriebrewingco.com/johnny-rails/ and that was a really nice clean beer with a good blend of pumpkin and spices.......

Fun to tinker, isn't it? Good for you that your brew worked out so well. I brewed Thunderstruck Pumpkin from HBT in early September. It's still conditioning.

I'm sorry. But I can't help opening this thread without wondering if that was what Prince Charming said to Cinderella on their wedding night .

Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Edit: Huh? How did that happen? I got a funny error message so I went back, re-posted and now I got a double post and I got promoted to "Braumeister". Does the promotion still count off of a double post?

If you posted it from Tap-A-Talk than every time I post a message I get a double post from there too. Think there is a glitch with it.

I believe the Tap-A-Talk is done on a Smart Phone. I already have a wife, a computer and a dog. The last thing I need is something else in the house that's smarter than I am.
