Pedialyte works well for dogs as well and has all those electrolytes lost from dehydration and not eating.
Dang that was a shocker both you and your dad; never heard of a broken shoulder before hope the prognosis is good there though obviously a long and painful recovery.

I quoted the D man because I've been there as well; why doesn't your vet have you re-hydrating with a syringe if your dog isn't taking fluids?

And I wonder why a foot injury has it off both food and water AND they sent the pet home under those circumstances??????

Hoping all turns out well for both.

One good thing about the Beer Borg, we are all here for you, and don't ever worry about telling us what problems you have in everyday life. alb, things will get better they usually do.

This. This times infinity. The Borg is populated with caring people, and I speak from firsthand experience. If you need to vent your concerns, please do so here, Amy. Our collective shoulders are big enough to carry the weight.

Thanks for your prayers and concern, everybody. You have no idea how that warms my heart! Ryley is much better! She ate some dog food and a Frosty Paws today, has been drinking water from her bowl, and wanted outside to explore the yard for awhile! I love a happy ending.

I talked to my dad's wife Judy yesterday and while she is in pain, she seemed in good spirits. They'll wait four weeks and see how it's healing before looking at treatment options. It could have been much worse.

I'm glad the situations seem to be better than you feared. And I'm glad The Borg was able to help you feel better during a rough time.
