Meet up

Post by RickBeer »

Finally got to meet a member of the Borg today. Da Yooper let me crash his tailgate before the U of M vs Indiana game. Unfortunately my better half could not make it, but met Da Yooper's better half and enjoyed a few brews on a 39 degree windy day. Lugged a sixer of my brews for miles (ok, maybe a mile) for him to enjoy later. Had a few Dirty Bastards and enjoyed some good talk. Then headed towards the stadium until Markus got yelled at by the police for drinking (actually spoken to for trying to step off the parking lot with a beer in his hand but that's not as exciting). Michigan won which was the most amazing part of the day. Here's a pic, the photographer wasn't very good, missed my face again...

Looks like a fun time.
Those Dirty Bastards are heavy and hearty and perfect for a cold day. Couldn't drink too many of them though and still function.

Look at you clowns!

Was great meeting up with someone Ive known for years but never in person. I am really looking forward to trying some of Rick's beers as well. Ive been in an IPA rut - a big part with SWMBO not liking darker and maltier beers - and I am sure there is at least one in that batch that may tweak her interest.

Quite honesty, I am surprised that Rick didnt see the fiasco and turn around. Had at least 40 people at the tailgate, and Thing One was in rare form with renting a party bus the night before and never making it to sleep. Thanks again for stopping by in the cold Rick!

I lOVE the Packer stocking cap under the blaze-orange stocking cap with the little deer patch thingy on the front. If that ain't classic Cheese-Head styling then I don't know what is.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Hey BB, watch it.

Yeah, it seemed that Da Yooper was dressed for a Packers game... I had on a Michigan long sleeve t-shirt with a Michigan Sweatshirt and then my ski jacket. Michigan ball cap and of course my Michigan belt buckle.

Yeah, had t-shirt, under armor, sweatshirt, and hoodie (maybe two?) all either maize or blue and with the logos, but after about 5 hours of tailgating the old bones started getting a wee bit chilly so had to don the Packer gear. Hey, at least it wasnt OSU or MSU.

I wear the orange hat ONLY since the wife hates it. :D
