Re: A Little Something.............
There are some interesting changes in this draft that started BJCP's review process in July, starting with a number of added styles, and things like splitting Oktoberfest into Festbier and Marzen as separate styles (no more Oktoberfest as its own style), and definition of several substyles of IPA. The BJCP web site says the final version will be published by the end of 2014 and start being used in 2015. There should be a lot of interesting material to explore, and it would have added some clarity when I judged specialty beers in a recent competition and had an entry of a Gose. I had never had a Gose, and the existing guidelines don't suggest what a Gose should taste like, but luckily the other judge (National rank) on my panel could describe what it should be.
