Am I just crazy.....?

Post by jpsherman »

Or does the BD stuff give a better head than Cooper's MrB?

From the few straight up BD's I have done, I seem to end up up with better head.

I do bottle prime so it could be something on my end I guess.
Fill with mingled cream and amber,
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain.
Quaintest thoughts — queerest fancies,
Come to life and fade away:
What care I how time advances?
I am drinking ale today.

I also noticed the BD seems to have a fuller, longer lasting head than Mr.Beer. Perhaps this explains the weird e-mail from Mrs. Beer?

I can't recall how the two BD batches I made fared. Wait, checked my notes. It says "good head". I always found MrB to have little or no head.

Isn't the BD the same stuff as the MrBeer before Coopers bought them?

Perhaps they should change their name to "Brew Succubus" based on these findings?

Hey JP,

Is it just the head retention or is there a noticeable difference in the body as well? (Leave it alone RB  )

We are fixing to help a guy brew his first beer, which will be a BD batch and I don't have any Carapils to steep.

I was going to post a thread and see if adding some CaraAmber would help with body/head retention.

It was the head retention.

Never used CaraAmber, but I have noticed good retention when I add Chocolate Malt.
