My pumpkin is about ready too. Good thing as Thanksgiving is one week away! I also had efficiency issues, also mashing pumpkin. Maybe more water next year, maybe less pumpkin. I used 58oz in a 5 gallon batch.
Making beer and stew for the Zombie Apocalypse.
Never mind, there it is.

I used 90oz in a 5.5 gallon batch :) I think it is just the puree in particular. I think next year I will try a few different things. First is to put the puree in a paint strainer bag and hope that contains some of it. The other thing I plan on doing is using rice hulls in hopes that will keep the flow going.

Talking with some of my brew club members I have heard that the place I got my grains is Notorious for "crushing" grains without crushing them. I was told to run in through his mill a few times next time I do it.

Either way it has led me to put the Barley Crusher on my Christmas list :) Along with that I want 3-4 50# dog food containers with screw top lids. Something like this:

Im branching out baby and becoming less dependent on my LHBS because the one I have in this area couldn't hold my old LHBS' mash paddle!

The container you linked to is the exact same container one of the LHBS here keeps their grain in.
