"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain

Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

That is AWESOME!!!
And they have - as of this time - over $1.1 million pledged of their $75,000 goal!
Again, AWESOME!
Wait...
I thought this could be used as a kegging system for home-brewed beer. But upon further review I found this is intended just to keep Micro-brewed beer fresh. Or am I correct in thinking that a person could use this for kegging home brew?

Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

It's another beer gadget that looks awesome and I want but is just a bit too costly for me.
But it looks cool and useful.

I think you have to take the top off to change the Co2 cartridge. If you get the 64oz model, it uses an 8gm cartridge. I think it would take at least 4-5 cartridges to carbonate, plus a fresh one to dispense. And every time you open it you’d lose some carbonation and get air exposure. I would only use it for dispensing.Chuck N wrote: Wait...

Re: Check out this growler!
If it can take the pressure, why not just prime it in the thing, then just use a dispensing cartridge? That would be awesome, especially for English cask ales, it would have to be able to hold that much pressure I'd think.
Re: Check out this growler!
It says you can dial in a pressure up to 15 psi.

Re: Check out this growler!
There was a recent WSJ article about crowd funding and how some never release products and keep the money. Many use these sites to raise money for things you'd find amazing (as in "I cannot believe people would give this person money").

I can't speak to this KS campaign, but I have donated to a couple. The first one didn't hit their target, so I wasn't out anything. The second one did hit their target, and I received everything I was promised. One thing to keep in mind is that it may take a while to receive your bling depending on the project. It took 3 months after the campaign ended for me to receive my stuff, but they kept sending updates along the way so that was good.alb wrote:Well, that would be my luck.RickBeer wrote:There was a recent WSJ article about crowd funding and how some never release products and keep the money. Re: Check out this growler!
These guys have a prototype and a manufacturer all lined up. So nothing stopping them from getting traditional financing. I assume that means they were turned down. They planned on raising $75,000, which would have maybe allowed them to make 1,000 units. They've raised 15 times that. Are they prepared to deal with the over 7,000 people that funded them? Should they have cut off funding at a level they could manage?
