Yazoo and Calfkiller did a collab smoked wheat (The Beacon) that was done with smoked wheat malt, local honey and local Calfkiller coffee that was very much bacon-like as well. Loved that beer (just recently opened the last bomber that I had from the case they gave me for helping label, wrap, and box them), and made a homebrew version that I really liked as well (but, alas, is also long gone). I know the brothers at Calfkiller have told me that they occasionally make it for kegging, so I hope to stumble into it at a bar or taproom at some point.

Oh, what I'm drinking... Patriot Lager from the infernal contest winnings. Hate the PoR hops, but at least they seem to blend in a touch over time. Still there, and still not my favorite, but I only have a few bottles left...

I'm enjoying one of the six remaining bombers of my Cali' Common Ale, it's such a nice well rounded beer I love it. It was the very first batch brewed on my new system. I'll have to wait an see when I get to brew it again because I'm having so much fun brewing styles I haven't brewed before.

Sucking on a Sierra Nevada Hoptimum....10.4% ABV. Not as much aroma as I thought but the hops hit you right up front and only leave a few teeth!

Hop head IPA - I hate to dispute that hoppy beers loose their flavor after time but this one is still going strong. Yea the hop aroma is ail most gone but still a tasteful IPA - HopHead IPA from Midwest - was dry hopped heavy - got bottled 12/23/2013 and drinking one now

Tom Sims bourbon. Cheap but good.

What a sad day for us in NOLA regarding the NFL. Glad we had good beer to drink.

That beer I called "Séance Méridien". Which ended up tasting like a Grand Cru, but is session strength. It's still really good with age. Impossible to make again as it was a Seasonal HME Frankenbier where I turned 1 can of the HME into a 5 gallon batch with other ingredients.

Black F-Rye Day IPA. First pour from the keg. Has a head that won't quit - sort of like a beer milk shake. One of the few darker beers that SWMBO will touch (meaning the keg won't last long).

I’ve got that coming up for brewing first thing in the New Year! You got it in the sale, didn’t you?

Black Bush Irish Whiskey. First half of the day went so smoothly, then the afternoon went to hell in a hand basket.
