How many BIAB'ers...

Have a question about how to do a BIAB or have a technique that you want to share. Just brew it!

Well personally I think there are a lot more SMEIBBs on here and we should get our own section.

We are technically smarter than the rest you because we can mash, BIAB, sparge, make any size batch we want all in the air conditioned comfort of our homes and we didn't blow a bunch of money on gear so we get to brew more than you do. (wistle emoticon which we don't have one of)

This!! Pretty much my method to brewing madness! :jumpy:

As for the grain thing, When I pick up my grains from the LHBS, they'll crush them for me and put it all in a bag. I just buy them on a per-recipe basis, so no need to store them at home.

I don't have a pot big enough to do a traditional full volume BIAB. I mash with 1.5 qts per lb like you, and get great results.

My full volume BIABs are always 2.3-2.4ish gallon post boil targets. I am brewing a higher gravity beer, I can't fit enough water in my pot w/the grains to end up with target volume, and I do a tea bag sparge in another pot to get more out of the grains and add that back into the boil to get back to where I need to be. And I squeeze.

If I am brewing a batch size > 2.n gallons, then my BIAB becomes a partial mash, with late extract and top up to volume in the fermenters.
