Birthday Dinner and Sonogram

Post by John Sand »

No one is pregnant, (well some people are somewhere) sonograms do all kinds of medical exams today. But I digress. My 53rd birthday is next week. Tonight 3 of my four stepchildren came over for dinner, and brought 3 partners with them, a wife, a fiance, and a girlfriend. The children were acquired from two marriages some years apart. I can't tell you how much it warmed my heart to have them together at dinner tonight. I am so lucky to be so loved by such fine people. Only my youngest son was working late and could not attend. This was one of my best birthdays ever.
Oh, yeah, the sonogram. My daughter in law is a sono tech, traveling to different offices to provide service. As she came from work, she had her machine with her. My wife got her to check my innards, I'm fine. Then everyone else got checked too! We all appear to be in good health.
It was a fun and different birthday party. Maybe there's a future in sonogram parties?

Thanks B-L! Good question! Yes, we drank the first of my Homegrown Hopped, an APA flavored with Cascades grown in our side yard, and some Punkin Head I made for Thanksgiving, also some Sierra Nevadas. They liked the homebrew, I find the pumpkin, brewed in early September, still improving. I'm pleased with the pale too. I did get a surprised "You made this?" on the pumpkin.
To go on about the "kids" (they are 25-36) One is a NYC Fireman, one a social worker, one puts windows into skyscrapers. I'm proud of all of them.

An advanced Happy Birthday, John.
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."
