So The Bhoy-o wasn't sure what to get The Mike for Crimmit. But he wanted something that his future brother-in-law would like. Then it hit him that maybe a mixer-sixer of craft beers would be well-received. I concurred, but since The Bhoy-o knows nothing about beer (except that he doesn't like it), he enlisted my help. Cable Beverage is nearby, and they sell many lovely craft and European beers, and making a mixer-sixer is SOP around there.
So I decided to run out this afternoon (getting back in time for the Army/Navy game), and put together a sixer for him. And for me. Yes, I made two identical sixers, because hey, quality control, dammit!
Anyhoo, here's the rundown:
Stone Coffee Milk Stout Sounded interesting and quite tasty. Also, Stone. You could do worse.
Defiant Weapons Grade Double IPA Our local brewpub, so not only am I confident it's a good beer, but it's helping the local economy. Six different hops and 9% ABV
Wells Sticky Toffee Pudding Ale I assume this is a brown ale, but I don't know. The name sounded interesting.
Hacker-Pschorr Original Oktoberfest Brewed according to the Reinheitsgebot, and Oktoberfests are good!
Brooklyn Brewery Monster Ale A barleywine style, which the label says "was born in 2012." 10.1% ABV, and I know Brooklyn Brewery does it right. Probably a good sipping beer.
Weyerbacher Merry Monk Belgian Style Tripel Belgian Tripels are good, right? This is also pretty hefty, at 9.3%
If anyone has sampled these fine offerings, I'd appreciate your reviews on them. I think I have a good mix of styles represented, and I'm hoping this gift goes over well.

Hacker-Pschorr Oktoberfest is pretty good, but Ayinger has the best flavor IMHO. That Weyerbacher tripel is actually damn good. Very rich malty with stone fruit flavors.
