It goes beyond creativity, and into other areas too - IE I know when I used to bowl competitively, there was a pretty specific amount I needed to drink to maintain my 200 average. If I drank less or more, it would fall into the 180s. So I agree with this science LOL.

I enhance the hell out of my abilities every night!
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Ha ha, that used to happen with me when I was on a dart league as well. When I was captain, there usually came a point where I would be forced to bench myself due to becoming un-smartened.

And I know exactly what you guys are saying :) I used to be in a pool league, I had to hit that sweet spot - not to much beer but just enough to loosen up.

I do find that a drink or two kind of frees up my creativity. And it's not just that I think I'm doing better. But I find that rum works better than beer.

Never mind, there it is.

When I bowl, I'm always careful to maintain the proper beer:sweat ratio.

Seriously, though, I have noticed that there's a point between being relaxed enough to just let it happen and starting to get fuzzy focus, and if I can maintain that sweet spot, I do a lot better.

Back in my Navy days I played a lot of darts. Real darts too. Nor the plastic "kiddie" darts they have these days. (This was over seas in Scotland.) There was always some joker that liked to stand just off to the side of the board and yell off the score with each dart that was thrown. Give me four or five pints of "heavy" and I could hit that joker every time.

Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.
