Re: Nashville - An Open Invite to All
Ok y'all, swmbo says we can make a daytrip while this is going on, so what are the dates? We're trying not to use her vacation days, as I want to go home this year. So I hope to at least have a meet & greet

Re: Nashville - An Open Invite to All
Hopefully someone will fill in what I've left out and/or correct as necessary. As I understand the schedule, several people will arrive on 1/30 (Friday), while others will arrive the morning of 1/31 (Saturday). So far, we have events scheduled on Saturday (1/31 - Blackstone Brewery tour with the owner/founder of the brewery at 3pm) and Monday (2/2 - Yazoo Brewery tour with the Yazoo Beer Evangelist at 2pm). I think there is a plan to do a homebrew bottle share at the house that some have rented during the Super Bowl on Sunday (2/1). I have one or two other things that may possibly pan out, but there will be plenty of meet-up opportunities.

Looks like the 31 will be best for us. I'll probably be getting there around 9 or 10

It'll be great to see you again Jim. Though Nashville's a little further away.

Re: Nashville - An Open Invite to All
I'm working on getting away from work at noon on that Friday and maybe getting in Friday night, instead of noonish Saturday. Silly ass end of the month crap, the other guy that "works" under me in my department can take off whenever he feels like not working. Me, I have to beg and give up 75% of my blood, for the 4 weeks due me every year!

We'll save a spot at the bar for any late comers but we'll also save the bill too.
Seriously, I hope this works out for everyone. Swen has the correct dates for Blackduck, Inkleg, RedBEERd and myself.....arriving on 1/30 and leaving on 2/3. But any time you can make it on the 31st, 1st and 2nd will allow us to have some time together.

Re: Nashville - An Open Invite to All
I was just thinking that, and yeah it is. It's some 365-370 miles from here but that's going up I-75 to I-24. Why in the world do they want you to go east before going west?? I think I can shave some miles by just going up US 27 (looks to be 4 lane except thru Chattanooga & Chickamauga National Military Park) and take a west (can't say left, it's a cloverleaf) on I-24. Considering the time lost just going to 75, it should work out about the same time wise(even better if Atlanta traffic decides to be ugly).Inkleg wrote:It'll be great to see you again Jim. Yeah, you and I could each travel an hour and have lunch in Peachtree City.

I will steal that and use that every chance I get
Re: Nashville - An Open Invite to All
Kegged RedBEERd's Nashville brew and we'll bottle these in about 3 weeks then ship to Swen (thank you much) to share. Both are a bit more than 5.25% so we brewed these to keep some semblance of sobriety.

Nice label Steve, very well done.
My Nashville brew has been in the gas for 9 days so I thought I'd try it. Well crap, something went wrong and don't think I'll be bringing it. Just to be sure that there wasn't something wrong with my first glass, I poured another. Sorry, don't think i could bring a subpar beer like this.
Ok, truth be told, the reason it's not coming is because I'll probably drink it all by then. Damn, why....why did I have to taste this. It comes in at 6% and that's all I'll give up till Nashville.
What's a rough count of how much beer people are bringing?

RedBEERd and I are shipping some to Swen. I'm not sure how much to bring. I guess just enough for everyone to have a taste?????
I'm already sipping mine as well and am pleased. Not gonna bottle from the keg until a few more weeks though.
