New World of Beer

Post by Beer-lord »

One of 2 WOB's opened on the 15th (in my area of the burbs, NOLA is opening early next year) so RedBEERd and I took a quick trip there. It's ok. Not as many beers on draft as I'd like but they do plan on some rotation. Lots of expensive bottle beers though. There was a guy from Dallas there as a trainer who knew his stuff (though the girls serving did NOT) and he was very helpful and friendly and spoke with us for about 90 minutes and even shared some free samples of a sour and some special beers.
I enjoyed an Arrogant Bastard and Young's Double Chocolate Stout from England.
It's a bit smaller than I thought and somewhat sterile but I think I'll be back every now and then. They are a bit expensive but you can't get Coors, Bud or Miller even if you wanted to. :o

I've got one of those not to far from me, but I've never been there. It looks like a decent place, but I usually don't like to go out to a bar for beer, then order food from somewhere else. They don't have food, but you can order from other near-by places that deliver.

How did you like the Youngs Double Chocolate Stout???

This one has food but I only got some onion rings but the food prices looked reasonable.

There are several here in Orlando. The newest is in a nice location on Lake Eola downtown. Ours has great food. The bratt sliders are killer. The giant pretzel looks better than it is though.

I did get something I rarely eat cuz the beers are already high in calories but I got their black and tan onion rings. Pretty good but for the little you got, $6 was a bit steep. It was presented nice in a delish sauce. But I think the food is probably pretty good.
