Whadya Get?
I got a utility kilt. It makes me want to:
A) Chop wood
B) Throw large logs as far as I can
C) Go for a 10k run so I can feel the advanced air conditioning in full effect
D) Get a shepherds crook and some sheep and put my herding dog to work keeping them in line
E) Feel 1.5x more like a burley man (good luck with that skinny boy)
F) Jump in a mosh pit
G) Brew some strong scotch ale
H) All of the above

WE really should be allowed to see this new wardrobe addition in action before commenting on its worth as a acceptable wardrobe addition.
You'll know how to share with us why we all need to run out and get one soon won't you?
It looks really great as a fashion statement I have to say but we need brewing related legitimacy here.

I'm gonna say H, plus
I) Locate floor vents for optimal cooling and warming.
J) Will add an extra element of surprise if you have to kick someone in the head.
K) Excites the women.
L) Other men will make fun of you, while secretly wishing they had the b@lls to wear one.
M) Brew ANY beer, though Strong Scotch Ale would be more to style.
N) They are just too damn cool not to wear!
Looks great Dave.

My brother got a growler from Great Lakes Brewing for me. Then we jumped in the car and took a ride over to the brewery/pub/restaurant and promptly filled it up. It was christened with their Bridge War Black IPA, which is only available on draft. It paired very well with the beef tenderloin we had for dinner.

Three beer related items for me:
A french press... I may use it for coffee a bit, but it will be primarily for randalling all kinds of ingredients...

Re: Whadya Get?
My youngest son made me a 24 bottle wine rack in wood shop..very nice..made from pallets/skids recycled oak planks. The wood was already stressed, he charred, stained and varnished for a great old look finish. I will try to get a pic on here. The other two boys each got me some new brew reading material.. Classic recipes and a Brewer's Bible. My wife got me a serpent wort chiller, works great!!, a bottle washer attachment for the sink that also works great...it even washes guests on the other side of the kitchen , and a Belgium Dubbel kit that I brewed on Sunday. All in all a great score.
