Hope you get some Chuck. It's hard to find down here. The store only got one case, luckily I'm good friends with them. Danny called and ask if I'd like some, the rest had sold by the time I got there.

We got a pitiful shipment up here... just regular and barleywine, and about 1/10th of what we got last year of those (we got variants last year as well). Was pretty well gone in a few hours. I didn't even bother going out black friday to line up, but did stumble into two bottles just last night, so at least I got some.



I have friends who went to four or so stores on BF and got a decent amount, so I'll likely be tasting it at a future tasting (we usually french press it with various ingredients... coconut, toasted coconut, and cocoa nibs was great, for instance... homemade Proprieter's).

Yes, love that Great Lakes beer (and several of their other ones). Of course, it always makes me think of this Opie and Anthony segment:



As for recent mixers... I did get a sixer of the latest Yazoo ETF limited edition beers (signed by the brewer and the barrel agent who provided the barrels), as well as a mixed six of New Glarius Thumbprint beers (Cran-bic and Oud Bruin, both of which are outstanding). I will also likely soon get a mixed six of the new beers in town (Evil Twin/Stillwater/Against the Grain/Wiseacre/Off Color). Really glad that all of these are in town now, as everything I've had from them all has been great.

I forgot to post this one last week, too. I wanted to "go back to my roots" with Pales and Ambers, so I picked this up:



I've not had the Butte Creek Pale before, nor can I recall the Grand Teton Sweetwater Grass Pale even though I know I tried it at the brewery last year. I think it was before I was using Untappd to track my beers.

I've already kicked 3 of these and it's been nice drinking Pales and Ambers (ok, one Amber) again after hitting so many IPAs lately.

No group photo this time around, but since I've not had time to brew lately I've picked up another mixer:

Rogue American Amber Ale (in a can, no less!). I've not seen this available before:
TASTING NOTES: Tawny amber in color with a toffee aroma, tight head, and a delicate roasted malt accent. Generous use of hops and a smooth finish.
8 INGREDIENTS: C40, C150, 2-Row & Rogue Farms Dare™ & Risk™ Malts; Rogue Farms Rebel Hops™; Free Range Coastal Water & Pacman Yeast.

Lagunitas Censored (Amber) - Yeah, I picked this up last time too. I love this beer.

Anchor IPA:
There was a loose one so I gave it a home. I only tried this once when it first came out and thought it was decent so I decided to give it another go.

New Belgium Ranger IPA:
I haven't tried this before and I know it gets good reviews. It's Cascade, Chinook and Simcoe - it can't be bad, right?

Nimbus Brewing Pale Ale: (Arizona) I've also never seen/heard of this one.
Chinook, Cascade and Columbus. Their site describes it as having "intense bitterness and aroma". I guess we'll see.

And the winner of the mixer sixer today is another beer (and brewery) that I've never heard of before:
Hoppy Ending Pale Ale (Palo Alto Brewing Company): Umm, I drive by Palo Alto three times a week on my way to work....why am I just now hearing that there is a brewery there!?!?!?
There is just a very generic description of the been on their site, referencing the C-hops and balance with the malt.
But today, they win for the label:

Ranger isn't that bad. New Belgium is not a big favorite of mine but Rampant and Ranger are decent. Love the Hoppy Ending IPA.

I enjoy the variety of a mixer sixer currently enjoying the founders dirty bastard scotch ale at 8.5% its a lil heavy

Brought this haul home today from the local ABC.

Found some Oberon so that I can pop it open when I tap my keg for the first time and pour the clone I have fermenting right now, for a side by side comparison. Also got Bell's Jupiter brown ale from their planets series. A couple of session IPAs in Founders and Southern Tier varieties. Anchor IPA and Boulder Beer's Slope City winter IPA.

I picked up a couple of beers today and then swung by my buddy's place to round out the sixer.



From left to right:
Stone Pale Ale: Last week when I bought this I thought it was the new 2.0 but it isn't. I'll save this for when I pick up the 2.0 so I can compare.

Stone Enjoy By: 12oz, 'nuff said.

Easy Jack session IPA: Again, 'nuff said.

Ballast Point Even Keel Session IPA: I've never heard of this but BP pura out outstanding beers.

Ballast Point Grunion Pale Ale: Heavy on the grapefruit and a solid pale ale.

Bear Republic Pale Ale: A+ pale ale. I love this beer.
