What are you drinking?

Re: What are you drinking?
Here's the first pour of my Fruit Salad Session IPA, brewed for the Nashville trip. I'm way early on the taste, but I had to do it, you know.....for science.
It's been in the bottle for 13 days and in the fridge for just 24 hours. I have not posted the recipe for this as it's a surprise to those going to Nashville. It turned out pretty good. Aroma is a little lighter than I was shooting for, but it could get a little better with another week or two conditioning. It poured with a light chill haze, nothing a week or so in the fridge won't clear up. It's a real easy drinking beer. As the title implies, the flavor is full of fruit. And at 4.5% ABV, it's perfect for Nashville.

Wish I was there to help. I'd do that for you. It's just how I roll.Inkleg wrote:I concur, think you and I followed close to the same recipe. I did 11 gallons and racked it into my rum barrel. It lacks in roastyness and mouthfeel, but other than that it's a good starting point.
Oh, just poured another Levitation, hash marks are at 49. Can't remember how full I filled the keg. Just a few more and it will kick.
I hate playing "kick the keg" .

Blasphemy. Pliny in a Stone glass?
You guys found out what cold is like in the winter now I see.
I took it easy and only had 1 beer today. Gotta ease back to work tomorrow after spending too much time off during the holidays.

Are you kidding? If I had a Lagunitas coaster I would have pulled a hat trick!Beer-lord wrote:Blasphemy. Pliny in a Stone glass?

While in Florida, tried a Maduro Brown Ale from Cigar City. Unimpressed, wish it had been on draft instead of a can.
Also had the chance to visit Dunedin (pronounced Dun Edin) Brewery and have a quick one, planned on more, but one of our party wasn't too good on a bike (we biked there, had a brew, then biked back trying to make St. Pete's beach sunset but it was too cloudy). Had one of their Brown Ale's, it was good. Wish we had time for more. Had planned to hit a number of breweries, but visiting relatives got in the way.
Have a great picture of all of us drinking at the bar, but for some reason the anonymous face feature wasn't working that day...

Re: What are you drinking?
My Nashville Breakwater Pale Ale. Doesn't look it but it's carbed perfectly. Has a nice grapefruit nose, a beaut of a color but finishes a bit dry. This bottle is barely 3 weeks old but I've not bottled from the keg yet and I have dry hops in the keg so the ones making the trip will definitely taste and smell different.......hopefully better.
Not my best but a very decent brew, low cal, low ABV and won't last long.

That is the backwardest boilermaker I’ve ever heard of! I’ve been known to chase a shot of tequila with a short glass of beer but you’ve got me scratching my head. On the other hand, a fun sipper is ice cold (as in, kept in the freezer) 50-50 mix of tequila and peppermint schnapps. First you get the schnapps cool, then the tequila warms you back up. I first had it at a now-defunct oyster bar and it was called’ “The Admiral’s Dinghy.”FrozenInTime wrote:Been drinkin an old Rye beer I did a loooong time back... keep finding hidden bottles of it... love it. Oh, I'm taking a sip of rye beer and then chasing each swallow with a shot of pepperment schnopps so I'm just a little.... fooked up.... hehehehe
