I stumbled on an article this morning that, while not groundbreaking, was a succinct and well-written little blurb chronicling the adventures and basic discoveries of a brewer who began 14 years ago. It contains some good tips for new brewers (of which we have had many joining our collective as of late), and a few anecdotes those of us with a few extra gallons under our belts (in more ways than one! ) may nod knowingly in agreement. Again, nothing new, but I always like to hear from those that have made brewing a lifelong passion.

A great article, thanks. I agree that there is nothing new there for me, but reading ideas and conclusions in a well written form helps crystallize them. Some of my recent lessons are right there. (I still have half a batch of pumpkin ale. Next year I'll only make half.) I also like the idea of bottling half a batch and kegging half.

Never mind, there it is.

I think this would make a pretty cool discussion thread.
Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.

Oh no, I don't pay any attention to my water profile other than using bottled "spring" water.
