What is sickening is the fact it is not the first time someone has been killed at that same crossing in the last few years. I hope they pull their greedy heads out of their ass' and put lights, signals, something on this crossing.
All the kids were transported to the hospital, some fared better than others. From what I have heard, all but 4 have been released home. Besides the driver, the other one that died has been identified, she was a 17yr old senior. Community is still in shock. Investigators have yet to identify the cause, they are saying the road on both sides are covered in ice, could have been unable to stop, also mentioned could have been mechanical failure, medical, etc. They are being very cautious about naming a cause this early. What ever caused it, it's bad.
I thought I was having a bad day today, but....

Re: I thought I was having a bad day today, but....
The brother of the young lady killed has told this story, he was on the bus and was hurt as was all the kids on the bus:
The driver seems to have had a heart attack and the bus had stopped on the tracks, The girl who was killed had taken control of the situation by having all the younger kids including her little brother move to the back of the bus. She then ran back to the front and tried to move Max off the steering wheel while putting the bus in reverse...but it was too late. Several of the kids that survived confirmed this to be the real story.
If this is true, and I have no doubt as her mother is also saying this, the young gal died a hero in my book!

A hero for sure!

Oh, man...Your right
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Things men have made with wakened hands, and put soft life into
Are awake through years with transferred touch and go on glowing
For long years.
And for this reason some old things are lovely
Warm still with the life of forgotten men who made them.
