OK, college football fans...

Post by alb »

What’s gonna be on your menu/in your glass when you watch THE (Mighty) Ohio State University Buckeyes fight the Oregon Duckies on the field Monday night? I’m planning homemade pizzas and my Andromeda Galaxy Ale. A beautiful session beer, since I have to work the next day.

I don't have a dog in the fight. I may watch a little here and there, but to be honest, the whole idea of the participants (those that haven't been suspended for illegal activity, at least) being called "STUDENT-athletes" kinda makes me throw up in my mouth a little...

I'm not particularly crazy (IMO), and I don't rock-climb. It's just the name of a video game I used to like to play, back in the 80's.

Pizza, and I got a 6 of my Bengal in the Rye chilling
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Nice shirt. Does it come with directions for the Ohio fans to properly put it on? "Unfold shirt on bed, with illustration facing down (towards bed). Insert head in bigger opening, then push through smaller opening opposite bigger opening while inserting arms (both) through even smaller holes. Tuck into pants."

Unfortunately, it's impossible for a Michigan fan to root for "that team down south". Against our DNA. While I wish fans of "that team down south" well, because you're fellow brewers, I can wish victory for your team. Go Ducks! QUACK!

Edit - forgot for Ohio fans.

Sure, sure, gloat all you want. We've now got the best coach in all of football (or so say the experts), hiring the best staff. I suspect in perhaps two years you will be eating crow. Hey, what type of bird is Brewbird?

I kind of remember that state up north doing a little gloating of their own when "Woody" got canned.

Rooting for Bucks, but I think it will be a tough game.

On the menu is chedder and potato pierogi with caramelized onions and home pickled red cabbage and home pickled beets, and malty beer I think. Local food ya know. With Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. Because I'm going to be out cross country skiing half the day and will need lots of carbs to replenish, and the yogurt tastes nearly as good as sour cream but has a lot more protein and I'll have sweated out ton of salt and will get cramps overnight if I don't eat some... My sad life LOL.
