Sometimes I wish I lived in another state.

For those living in Georgia, here's a good article of why we can't have nice things. You other folks, be thankful your state is not living in the stone age controlled by large money donating distributors.
It's a long but good read.

Bummer! In the city proper, it's kind of hard to start a business like craft brewing but around the city and the rest of the state, they have open arms. Some smaller towns are begging for this type of business.
The problem for George is the surrounding states will take all the business Georgia is willing to send their way.

Yeah, look at all the large West coast breweries opening new digs on the East coast, not a one of them has picked Georgia. It's easy to see why.

Tennessee is in the same boat. We were allegedly close to landing Sierra Nevada and a few other expansions, but the laws are so whack here and they wouldn't cut them a deal. Lucky we have people like Linus going to bat at the statehouse via the Tennessee Craft Brewers Guild, as they have gotten several of these laws overturned, including the out of control taxation that the craft breweries faced (still highest in the country, but at least not growing exponentially anymore) and getting hi grav beer caps lifted for groceries, beer stores, and brewery taprooms. The Georgia Craft Brewers Guild has a similar mission (and I'll bet many other states have these kind of groups as well). These are great groups to support, as their efforts help us immensely as brewers and beer consumers.

It's the squeaky wheel that gets the grease. Just got to make noise lobbyist only offer money make enough noise and they'll be worried about jobs
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."
