By far one of the most enjoyable long weekends we've had in a while! And have added a few new good friends along the way!

Most definitely made some new friends. Can't describe how much fun this was as well as a learning experience in so many ways. Steve, thanks for being a part of it.

Yessiree Baby...It was a great time that's for sure. Unfortunately, it's time to start packing up and get on the road.

The friends I already had. The great thing was finally being able to shake their hand.

Jeff and Steve left the house last night and Chris just left so it's just Chuck and I left in Casa de Lupulus waiting for flight time to come.
I have to say that every one of the gang who met in Nashville were truly great people and I am so glad this beer nerd got to meet others with the same disease.
To think that this went from meeting on the forum to exchanging ideas, swapping beers and PM's to phone calls, discussions then reality, was great. Sharing a house made it even more of a family feeling and allowed us a place to let it all hang out. I'm sorry dbrowning couldn't meet with us and hope all is well with them.
A huge, special thanks to Swen for ALL he did to make a great time an absolute lifetime memory.

Some highlights of the weekend for me (out of many):
- Sharing some great beers and discussion at the house.
- Neil popping beers for us off of the bottling line mere seconds after they were capped.
- The in-depth discussion of the brewing software and equipment at Blackstone.
- The time in the (no one else in the city has a lab, but apparently they do) lab at Yazoo.
- Kent pulling a pitcher of Black Belle out of the barrel for us to share.
- Kilts...
Any others?
You all were very generous with your beers, and way too generous regarding gifts. Thanks to all that were able to come. Hope we can do this again some time...

- Kilts... ..
- That cheeky bastard Chris coming downstairs in his kilt after I had put mine on. Then finding out
everyone had kilts. (Thanks guys for not leaving me dangling out in the cold).
- Then watching Chris "Wear it like he owned it"
- Watching the twins banter back and forth like a couple of French chefs while fixing a fantastic Super
Bowl dinner.
- The generosity of our hometown hosts family allowing him the time to do ALL that he did for us.
- Lunch at Hattie Bs
- Going home with more beer than I brought.
- Looking forward to next year.
And that's just small part of what was a great time.

One follow-up:
I had mentioned that Dave Miller, original brewer at Blackstone and homebrewing legend, had posted his original Blackstone recipes online. Here is the article about Dave, and here are links to the recipes:
Chaser Pale
Nut Brown Ale
St. Charles Porter
Oatmeal Stout
Coffee Stout
IPA (I don't believe that this is a current IPA that they do)

Re: Nashville - An Open Invite to All
Just walked through this little place called Opryland. Walked up and looked at the taps in 4 different restaurants. As everything paled in comparison to this past weekend, I'm now sitting having a preboxed sandwich enjoying a Brett IPA I had in my coat pocket. I'm "Drinking it like I own it", Oh wait I do.
At least the view walking by ain't to bad either. No twins, but hey it's better than nothing.

If anyone cares, the twins are back in NOLA and suffering from severe beernerd withdrawals.
The good news is the 4 beers from Jim that I packed in my suitcase all arrived safely. If I can trust Chris to ship the other beers instead of stealing them, I'll be golden.

Glad y'all made it home safe. I'm still stuck here, wishing I was home. Without you guys around to distract me I'm really missing my naked one.

Just don't get the Music City Amber served at opryland. .. it's michelob Amber Bock. Stupid considering they could just serve Yazoo Gerst and have a real Music City amber ale. ..

Re: Nashville - An Open Invite to All
+1000 to all of the above. Like Jeff I only bought 1 bottle of beer, we drank everything I brought but came home with nearly 2 cases of beer!
The neatest thing I can offer is between aprox 20 different home brews we tasted and about a dozen or so commercial crafts, either brought or tasted at the breweries, as i recall there was only ONE beer that was deemed drain worthy, the Stone Golden Stout! RedBEERd had to dump his!
