Brasserie Du BOCQ 1858 Saison (unfiltered farmhouse ale). Really nice Belgian ale with some spices.

Midnight Rail Black Imperial IPA from Triton Brewing company here in Indy. Nice Hoppy beer with a strong dark malt backbone. Also packs a punch at 9% ABV.

Tried a new restaurant, Hopcat. $7 for a half pounder burger, crack fries, and a pint (4-6 pm Monday - Thursday). SWMBO had a El Rojo Red Ale - Griffin Claw Brewing Company and I had a Bonfire Brown - Saugatuck Brewing Company. Hers was excellent, mine was very good, similar to Bell's Best Brown.

Jim Johnson's Middletown Pale Ale. Really nice. A bit of maltiness, a bit of bitter. Really nicely balanced. Me likey...

Hung out with a friend from brew club last night and sampled an array of homebrews and commercial brews. In no particular order, we tasted Bubs' IPA, Blonde Naturelle, Oude Gueze Boon, Pura Vida 100 Year Ale (centennial smash), lavender metheglin, Imperial Choco Brown, Pura Vida BGS (belgian golden strong brewed with star anise), and Fat Head's Head Hunter IPA.

Finally thawed out for a day, so I headed back up to Nashville today. Decided to stop by and hang with Neil a bit on the way home. Had fun talking about his big plans for the upcoming Funk Fest in May that I'll be working at, and had some fine brews:

Banjo-Guys Ferocious IPA, WOW a ton of aroma and flavor, nice balance of the malt and hop bitterness! This would be a great beer to go with a plate full of my Smoked BBQ Brisket and Baby Backs!

Had a NOLA Bringer of Destruction double IPA.....they claim up to 2lbs of hops to a bbl. Not bad. It's a Stone/Nola collaboration. A one off that was only made for Mardi Gras until it's gone.

Also had a Southern Tier 2X nitro stout (avg) and a Chicago's Stench's Stout that I've had before (VERY enjoyable)

Wow, that sounds good. Myself, I had a Sam Adams Boston Lager last night. As it's going to be awhile yet before any of my beer is ready for consumption.

Having one of Phil's IPAs. Tropical fruits with Belgian character. Tasty!
