Here we go Brewbirds!

Post by teutonic terror »

Our area has been waiting for a decent snow all winter, and it looks like tomorrow night and Tuesday morning
we're gonna get our fill! :(
Hope you got your milk and bread! :p

I see in the Roanoke area they're calling for 10-12", so if you have to go out,
take it slow and watch out for the other drivers.
Seeing as we have such infrequent snow, people forget how to drive in it
and they think they can still go the same speed as dry roads. Not!
Good luck and be careful!

Absolutely take it easy if your not accustomed to snowy roads. If it snowed 3-4 days ago these drivers here forget how to drive in it!

Make sure you have enough provisions for three or four days, and then just stay home and try not to get cabin fever. Stay safe!

Sorry for the late reply, I've been locked in the bedroom under all the blankets I could find. :p

Seriously though the Chamber of Commerce LIED, LIED.

I think we went through a worm hole on the highway somewhere and got transported into a snow globe.

Haven't been out of the house for a week and if it doesn't let up as promised Sunday I'll have to find a 4 wheel drive taxi to take me to the store.

BB2 is running out of some meds too. And the dogs will not go outside to pee etc.

This sucks.

Yea, this whole global warming or 'climate change' thing sure has messed up winter for MILLIONS of people. I'd go stir crazy after 2-3 days. I can't even stand when it's gloomy here for 2 days......gotta have that sun light to ward off the S.A.D.

Hope it ends for yall. stay warm and safe.

Yep, snowing here again too. I just came from the boat. I could cast off the dock lines, 'cause the harbor is frozen. Poured a beer slushy while on board.

Never mind, there it is.

I wonder if Texas will take us back.

Hey Philm00x what's the no see um bugs and scum bag rating for Winter Haven? Do you guys have a LHBS? :p

Don't know if the car will even start or if I can get it out of the drive but I HAVE to get to the pharmacy and grocery store today.

It is supposed to get up to 43 +/- today and there is some melting but not the snow on the ground yet. Thing is it drops below freezing again starting Monday.

I repeat... this sucks. :x

hang in there BB :freeze: It does get better and sooner for you down there in Virginia then it does here in NE PA. And it could always be worse, we could be up with John (FIT) in Norf Dakota where it has been in the minus degrees since Nov. I think he was going ice fishing in Oct........way to cold.

That's so weird, because it's never cold in Virginia in the winter... Seriously, it does stink when the weather is so far off the norms - more snow, more cold, but that's what makes averages (highs and lows).

Drive slow, with your window open. When you see a car coming, simply shout out the following:

"Daft Bird Driver Coming, CLEAR THE ROAD".

You know at least 2 people in Texas would be happy to see you back. Here's a hint: one of them is a sweet woman, and the other one has one tooth left.

Rick, really the weather is not that far off here. I have seen winters recently where during Jan and Feb, it never got above freezing.
Now, the last week or so, is quite a change from our normal temperate 35-45, not quite as cold
as the UP of Michigan, but by our standards frigid!

Hang on Birds, our time is coming!
Starting in mid to late April you can expect any type of weather you can imagine, especially in your area.
You want breezy, I'm sure you'll have several consecutive days of winds of 35-40 MPH with gusts around 60.
You want hot, May thru early Oct, you can count on mid 80's to upper 90's and at least 70% humidity, and plenty of healthy storms.
I might just go off anybody that tells me it's "too hot" especially after the last couple of weeks!

Just hang on for a few more weeks and we'll be golden! :jumpy:

Daft Bird Driver Coming, CLEAR THE ROAD"
Hey RickB it worked!!!

Well I kind of did that; put a big white arrow on the back window pointing at my Texas plates and above that wrote " Migration - it's North in Winter/South in Summer right ???"

Felt like I had lights and sirens going as folks cleared the streets for me. :p
