I have been bad
Forgive me, Borg, for I have sinned.
I promised myself I wouldn't tap the 2Daves Irish Red until St. Patrick's Day. That would have been four weeks since I kegged it.
But I caved under the pressure, and I've had about six pints over the past two or three days. Two weeks in the keg.
It's so tasty and rich! I couldn't help it!
I'm so ashamed.

Say 3 Hail Mary's and brew another 5 gallons (soon) and all will be forgiven.

You obviously are an addict. Send it to me and save your soul.
Re: I have been bad
Dave, tis alright to succumb to temptation, But with 13 more days until St. Paddy's Day and with the rate you are sampling, it might be wise to save a pint or two for the big day

Dave, if your Irish Red is anything at all like the Imperial Red I love from Oscar Blue, then I can't blame you one bit for going coocoo for cocoa puffs over it. If you drink it all before St Patty's Day, then just drink something else instead. If anybody gives you a hard time about it, just send them to me and I'll set them straight.

Re: I have been bad
Mine are ready, but I've not even done a carb check. 'Cause I'm afraid once I get started...

Bad thing about kegging is in a lot of cases you dont need those additional pesky four weeks....

That only holds true if you force prime. I keg and natural prime, so it still takes 4 weeks.

No, this is pretty darn good after two weeks just sitting at 12 psi. Maybe not as clear as I'd like, but as far as carbing level, flavor, and mouthfeel, it's prime!jimjohson wrote:That only holds true if you force prime. I keg and natural prime, so it still takes 4 weeks.

Re: I have been bad
I ain't got the cash for the initial out lay(the CO2 tank is going to be a real budget killer), and I still need 2 more kegs. This year the kegs, next year the CO2 tank and regulators. I got to, like Carrot Top says, save up!
