RedBEERd picked me up some Hop Project but it doesn't have 81 on it. Says "Yazoo Hop Project Ale". I've not had it yet. Gonna wait until next week. It was from Southern Mississippi so it might be old, who knows.

Basil Hayden's Kentucky Bourbon....cut with just a few drops of water. Sometimes I just want something other than a beer.

Actually, I agree. I had a few Rum and cokes this weekend just for a change of pace...but I made up for it today.

Here's where the number is printed, though the printer is sometimes flaky... Each batch is a different hop variety and schedule. You can look on Linus' blog to see what hops they used for each batch. Anything prior to 80 was the old grain bill (an amberish bill that's a bit more malty), and after that switched to the lighter grain/wheat bill they have used ongoing (similar to the 10 Year).

Re: What are you drinking?
Just had to pop open the small bottle of Saison d'Olivia tonight. I'm suuuuper stoked with how this beer turned out! Light ginger spice, orange citrus flavor up front with that signature bubblegum note that DuPont has, and perfectly effervescent and dry! This might be my most favorite beer I've ever brewed!

RedBEERd got ripped off! There's nothing listed under "bottled on date"! Looks like some bootleggin's going on.swenocha wrote:Here's where the number is printed, though the printer is sometimes flaky... Each batch is a different hop variety and schedule. That would be the aforementioned printer flakiness... I'll be interested to see/hear what the color looks like. Will tell a lot about whether it's pre-80 or post-80.

Re: What are you drinking?
Will let you know when I open one. Way too many today to hit another one. Gotta get the brain ready for a crappy week.
I did have a Hop Jack tonite to finish the night. Only 1 more left and it's bye-bye.

If you were around the North East and mainly NY state around 30-40 years or so ago, this was a beer ahead of its time. Well before the micro/Craft revolution hit.

drinking my APA the Middletown Pale Ale
"Filled with mingled cream and amber
I will drain that glass again.
Such hilarious visions clamber
Through the chambers of my brain
-- Quaintest thoughts -- Queerest fancies
Come to life and fade away;
Who cares how time advances?
I am drinking ale today."

Nope...not from Glass With A Twist. I found a case of the glasses super cheap here: http://www.webstaurantstore.com/libbey- ... 51209.html With shipping, it came to about $40.00, for the case!!! Then a real good friend of mine that has a sweet laser etching machine did the etching on the glasses. I took 12 glasses and he took 12 glasses and we split the cost. They came out really cool.
