Started feeling poorly about a month ago and it finally got so bad I couldn't stand up longer than two minutes - my heart started pounding, my eyes pulsed, burning back pain, shortness of breath, fatigue on steroids - scary stuff. BB2 and I thought a heart attack or stroke was at the door knocking.
I wouldn't go to ER because there wasn't anyone to take care of my brother so we called and got him signed up for a home health care service to come and feed him etc.
Meanwhile BB2 looked my symptoms up (good ole Google

Sure enough I got out the BP meter and my BP was 78/57 holy cr-p.

I'd started a D.A.S.H. diet to get off the pills and it worked so well I got back to a normal BP and promptly crashed through the floor.
As soon as I quit taking the meds my pressure started to come back up but it took a long, long time. Once it got up to 90ish/70ish I was able to move around a bit but I was pretty zapped.
I could not put any solid food in my mouth, my brain would not let me chew though I was able to keep BB2 fed some how and he was a trooper throughout.
Enter LindseyWinstead's baby kale pesto thread from a while back and an immersion blender I just purchased to make said recipe and I survived off of a smoothie like concoction of that pesto (which I had thankfully made already), some super greens, carrots simmered in chicken stock and grated Parmesan pureed until it looked not unlike pond scum. Oh yeah, and the microwave gets some credit for my recovery as well because that stuff WAS NOT going down cold.
I called my life saving elixir Super Goo.

So my old goal, get off the BP meds accomplished, I now need to set some new ones.
I am so emaciated that I look like a cast away from an island with no coconuts so my first goal is to not have to tie my pants on with a rope.

Another goal I'm working on is doubling everything I cook and filling the freezer with ready to heat and eat meals that an aide can fix for BB2 if I'm ever out of action again.
We have both been trying to get primary care doctors but new patient appointments are months out - a goal out of our control.

Anyway, that's my absence in a large nut shell.
Going to see what all I've been missing on the Borg now; guess I should start way back when I went AWOL and move forward. I'll check for a Paddy's Day thread first.
Missed you guys.
