Yazoo/Upland sour collaboration

Post by swenocha »

Most know my love of Yazoo, both their standard beers and their sour program. I also have a great love for a few breweries from my former home state, Indiana. Upland has some of the best American sours I've encountered. I just had VinoSynth Red yesterday, and always enjoy getting the opportunity to get a taste of one of their sours. Today came news that Yazoo and Upland are collaborating on two sours.
Upland Brewing Co. announced today that they will be creating several new collaboration beers in 2015. The first collaboration will be with Nashville’s Yazoo Brewing Company. Upland Brewing Company’s Sour Program Director Caleb Staton and Brandon Jones, lead brewer for Yazoo’s Embrace The Funk, met March 10th and are working together to create two unique blends of wild beer. The first will debut this summer at Washington D.C.’s craft beer and food event SAVOR.
Upland will also be collaborating with Great Raft Brewing from Shreveport Louisiana this year. I'm hoping to be able to snag some bottles of these (assuming they end up in bottles at some point).

Maybe they'll make it to Mississippi where my son can grab some. Some of the supermarkets just about an hour a way sell Yazoo but I don't know if these will make it there.
Only tasted on Great Raft beer so far and it was just ok but I've read they've already done some upgrading. Good stuff is happening.

Yazoo is just now starting to look at distro for the sour program. Up until now it's been sold at the brewery exclusively. But, a few days ago...

I love the logo. Wonder if I'd love the beer as much. :)
