I traded for a Heady Topper (thanks Beerlabelman) and have to agree its definitely a great beer. In my top 3-5 as well. I posted here about it but as I remember, it was like a bunch of waves of flavor. You get a mild but very good nose and then the tastes come like multiple, ah, the tastes keep coming. Just when you think you've enjoyed it, another 'ooohh-ahhhhh' is behind it.
I remember reading the can where it says you should drink it out the can but I don't think I noticed a difference between the can and a glass so I wasn't quite getting the idea. Definitely one for the beer-bucket list, especially if you like IPA's. It's not a kick in the mouth IPA, just awesomeness personified.

I view it exactly the same in that I wouldn't pay $30 for a bottle of wine either.

Seriously, not a wine drinker. Red gives me a headache, and I enjoy a good beer much more than white wine. If all that someone has is a nice Zinfandel, I'll drink that in a pinch.

Westvleteren 12 was certainly the most expensive beer I have ever bought. But I did split the cost with another person, unfortunately that meant I had to share :drunk:

straffe hendrik tripel has been the most expensive to date for me. 18 dollars for the big 750 ml bottle, and about the same price for 4 x 11.2 oz bottles.

I think the most expensive I have bought has been the half gallon Rogue Dead Guy Ale for the glow in the half gallon jugs. They were around $18.

I stopped by the distributor today. Spent $27 on two sixes of craft beer. (Including tax and deposit) One local IPA I've had before, one local APA I haven't. Needed some IPA and a little boost. But it occurred to me after that for the same price I paid for two sixes, I can make two cases.
I'm still going to enjoy the beers, and buy more sometime. Especially because the nice young clerk said "I loved that beer you made!" Nice to make people happy.

I'm a bit envious of you Swen, since the Sour intro in Nashville I keep looking for different offerings here, gonna get a look at a store that does single beers and a pretty good selection today.
